Treatment · Biostimulation

Collagen stimulation is not one treatment.

"Biostimulator" describes a category, not a single interchangeable injectable. Different products have different compositions, mechanisms and clinical roles, and their behavior should not be collapsed into a generic promise to "make collagen."

How the technology is chosen

More collagen is not the goal by itself.

The category includes calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) and poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) approaches, among others, and product selection, anatomical plane and treatment objective are chosen to match what tissue support the patient actually needs. The desired endpoint is a clinically appropriate improvement in tissue quality or support while preserving proportion and identity — not the maximum possible collagen response.

Technology options

Biostimulation is considered as a category. Which product family, if any, applies follows from assessment.

    Biostimulators

A category, not a single interchangeable injectable.

Aligns with a tissue-first approach when the objective is appropriate tissue support and remodeling rather than indiscriminate volume addition. The specific product used is confirmed with the patient as part of that plan.

When another approach may make more sense

When the primary problem is a defined volume deficit, surface pigment or vascular change, or a texture concern better matched to another depth of treatment, a different option in this system is the more direct fit.

Before your consultation

Bring the tissue concern, not a product name.

You don't need to know which product family fits. That's what assessment is for.
