What it is
Accure is a 1726 nm laser system designed to target sebaceous glands as part of an acne treatment strategy. In patients whose acne is driven in part by sebaceous-gland activity, it offers a device-based approach aimed at a biologic component of acne rather than the pigment, redness or scarring active acne can leave behind.
How it works
Acne is not only a surface problem. Inflammation, pigmentation, redness, texture and scarring may all coexist with active acne, but they are not the same treatment target — a wavelength aimed at sebaceous-gland biology addresses the active disease component specifically.
Why the target matters
1726 nm targets the gland, not what it leaves behind.
The 1726 nm wavelength is selected for its interaction with sebaceous-gland tissue — a biologic component of active acne. Candidacy depends on acne pattern, activity, medical history and current therapies; it does not extend automatically to residual pigment, vascular change or scarring, which are addressed by different technologies once the active disease is under control.

When another approach may make more sense
Not every breakout requires an energy-based procedure. Medical acne management or another approach may be more appropriate depending on acne type, severity and patient factors.
